A Number of Things

Apparently I'm an artist. A musical artist, this time around. Awesome sauce.

So other than being terribly busy with a number of different projects simultaneously (one new client is live, TurboMail has had a 3.0 beta release, and existing projects have been churning updates steadily), I've managed to squeeze in some leisure time here and there, and even have a few blog posts queued up for polish and post.

My first album is now available on a number of sites including iTunes, Napster, Amazon MP3, and Lala, and, very shortly, Bittorrent.

Yes, an official release on Bittorrent as well as a number of commercial sites. The reasoning behind releasing it for free is a bit more complicated than the "oh, people will steal it anyway" mentality, though that does apply somewhat.

I'm taking a page from Trent Reznor's (and Cory Doctorow's) books here, in one case literally, in that fans of the music will appreciate getting high quality material for free as a prelude to purchasing a copy, and that those who can't afford to purchase the music can listen to my music without feeling guilty. Cory Doctorow has a great book on the subject available online, appropriately, under a Creative Commons license.

I'll update this post with links to the torrents when they become available. Remember to seed! ;) And I promise I will post more often.

Update: A torrent is now online: The Pirate Bay

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man person perish, yet the inward man person is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

— 2 Corinthians 4
