Well, I'm home for the holidays, and probably quite a bit longer. … It's cold.
- PAX
-
I wrote, quite some time ago I fear, that I would write something about my experiences travelling and from PAX. As blog-worthy topics are few and far between, and as flashbacks are particularly strong these days, I thought it about time to fulfill my promise.
- Heading back to Panama.

So, I'm heading back to Panama. Yay! More work with interesting people, more plane rides, and more opportunities for photography. All-around a good thing. I'll only be in Seattle for one day, though, as my plane leaves very late at night. This means I'll be able to drop by the Apple Store again and pick up a pair of headphone that'll bloody well fit the iPhone. Stupid recessed jack…

I appear to have gotten sick. Last night I awoke around one, or three, (my memory is fuzzy) with the most intense pain in my left temple I can remember ever having. I was dizzy and nauseous to boot. At nine I am still feeling under the weather. I don't know if it was the thoroughly cooked eggs and bacon I had for breakfast, the late and cookie I had for lunch, or the well-done burger I had for dinner. Now, as I sit next to my sister, I still have a pretty bad pain. It only shows up when I exert myself by standing up too quickly, etc. but it's there. And it's migrated to the back left of my skull. Owie.
- ZOMFGWTFKKKBBQ First Class!

Traveling first class was… strange. Very strange. It started off strange when the first class ticket was cheaper than the economy one. And, at some points, the journey was even a bit surreal.
- Yay! Uhm… yeah… yay?

My flight has been confirmed, I need to book a hotel, and I need to prepare my computer for PAX by installing Windows and a variety of games. Starcraft and UT2K4 run native on Intel Mac's, which is nice.
- Okay, I've been in Panama a while…

… and things really are going well. I'm doing work I enjoy (sysadmining a 25 Mac network and a soon to be 50-phone VoIP network too), I'm getting paid well, and I'm feeling the healthiest I have in a very, very long time.
- Shortest. Flight. Ever.
-
So, I've finally been on the shortest flight of my life—this despite the fact that the marker moves with each flight.
- A Week of "Lasts"
-
In under one week I will be moving to Panama. This excites and distresses me simultaneously. While I know I will be returning in three months, if only for a short time, and only to return to Panama, I can't shake the feeling that this week is a week of "lasts".
- Stories to tell.
-
My journey home was less than plain, as you could probably picture from my last entry. I glossed over the bus ride, as I was far too tired to be writing anything, let alone an amusing story full of details.
- Seattle, now home.
-
So, I'm sitting back at the same home office I left three short weeks ago. Nothing makes a holiday pass like working entirely through it.
- Holiday blogging.

After suffering from food poisoning at 4:00 this morning (due to questionable vegetable dip) I'm rearing to go despite being pretty darned tired. Panama has finally caught up with me - I remember thinking a month ago that I could hardly wait and now it's approaching far too fast.
- Monday. It had to be Monday.

Next Monday is my appointment with an endocrinologist. And that is a disturbingly difficult word to spell. On the phone with the doctor's office I nearly had kittens - now comes the joy of arranging transportation.
