Comment of the Day

I think I'll start posting a Comment of the Day feature-ette. It will showcase the best comment I've run across during my daily blogging and digging. Today's features an update to the Great Format War.

The original source of the graph is a blog I read this morning. It was amusing, and had figures on it that were hard to believe. In the first week of January Blu-Ray and HD-DVD were neck-and-neck. In the second week Blu-Ray had amassed 93% (rounding, here) of the market share in hardware sales. How could this happen? Easily - one of the largest companies on HD-DVD's side of the war jumped ship to Blu-Ray. Win.

The comment to this Gizmodo article on the matter that caught my fancy was the very first one, by 92BuickLeSabre.

What are they thinkin'? They're thinkin': "I work for Toshiba. I would like to still work for Toshiba next week."

Best comment today.

I look forward to continuing this tradition long enough for it to be called a tradition. And I hope to some day start posting personal entries again. Oh, and smoking's bad for you, and it seems I can't get drunk. Physically, that is.

花鳥風月

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man person perish, yet the inward man person is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

— 2 Corinthians 4
