Yay! Uhm… yeah… yay?

My flight has been confirmed, I need to book a hotel, and I need to prepare my computer for PAX by installing Windows and a variety of games. Starcraft and UT2K4 run native on Intel Mac's, which is nice.

While in Seattle I need to:

  1. Buy three iPhones.
They are fully unlocked now, which is awesome, and I can run my own software on them—or, if the software I want isn't available, I can write my own software. Awesome! I think I'll just need the web browser, which is included of course, and a terminal with SSH access.
  2. Buy clothing.
Seattle would be so much better than my home town for this. I need to make a list of the articles I need—any suggestions?
  3. Get pierced.
Any recommendations? Ears, of course, but I was also thinking brow ring, and/or nose stud. If I would go for both, I'd probably have the ring on my left brow, stud on my right nostril. I do have one high-resolution image of me on Flickr…
  4. Practice my signature.
The signature I used on Innocente is probably my favorite font-derived sig. My writing sucks badly enough that every time I write something it comes out completely different, though. Stupid 130WPM mad keyboard skills getting in the way of my brain.
  5. Get my hair done.
Again, any suggestions? My hair is fine, frizzes easily, is brown/black with a tint of red (all natural except the black part), is middle of my shoulder-blades in length when combed in a dry environment, and my bangs aren't growing out much at all.)
  6. Update my blog each night.

While back at my folks' place, I need to:

  1. Work.
Ugh. Always with the work. For my father -and- for my new employers. Any Python or SQL experts reading this and want to make a little coin? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink?
  2. Get certified copies of my BCID, Birth Certificate, and Passport.
I need copies because the old ones are going to be handed back to the government as per the next item.
  3. File my name-change papers.
So, the government takes all of my papers, requires me to get my fingerprints taken and a criminal record check performed, and requires that the documents be filed with the RCMP. I can't mail them myself.
  4. Hang with my sister. (Yay!)
It'll be good to hang out with her. Coffee shops, movies, etc.
  5. Hang with my friends. (What few remain in that town.)
There's only one person in town now that I could consider a friend. Adam is still in Calgary, Rinii and Coulter are still in Dawson's Creek. Son of a bitch.
  6. Buy clothes. (Good luck.)
My home town is pretty much limited to a Walmart and Zellers, which sucks monkey balls.
  7. Hang in Victoria. (Yay!)
Better selection of clothing, nice assortment of friends. All-round good stuff. This includes a real-world Diagon Alley (the smallest alley in Canada).
  8. Buy more clothes. (Yay!)
Victoria and Vancouver are good for this.
  9. Update my blog at least once and awhile.
Yeah… I have trouble keeping a schedule with my blog. I always self-defeat by saying "I've got nothing interesting to say today, maybe tomorrow."
  10. See a dentist.
There's something weird going on with my wisdom teeth, plus there's a strange groove in one of my molars, running just above the gumline.
  11. Wait for my ID documents to get back with my new name, re-apply for my passport and BCID.
  12. Apply for a driver's license.
'Bout fucking time I did this.
  13. Talk to my GP or endocrinologist.
I need to figure out what the correct dose is for me. Grr. And I should probably find a therapist that doesn't suck.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man person perish, yet the inward man person is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

— 2 Corinthians 4
